| How It’s Used in the Molded Fiber Tray Process:
The molded fiber tray is commonly used as a sustainable alternative to plastic packaging. However, to ensure optimal preservation of sensitive products, additional barriers are required to protect against oxygen, moisture, and contaminants. This is where the EVOH film comes in.
During the manufacturing process of the molded fiber tray, the EVOH film is laminated onto the surface of the tray, either through heat sealing or adhesive lamination. This layer serves as a barrier, improving the tray’s protective properties while maintaining its recyclable nature. The EVOH film allows the tray to be used in high-barrier applications such as fresh food packaging, where maintaining the product’s freshness and preventing spoilage are critical.
